Caffeinating the Housing Search: ApartmentsForLegends Launches on UA Campus with PJ's Coffee Collab

n April of 2023, ApartmentsForLegends made our debut on The University of Alabama’s campus. Our team hit The Strip in downtown Tuscaloosa to offer free PJ’s Coffee to students walking to or from campus in the morning. ApartmentsForLegends interns took turns manning the table on the corner of University and 12th Avenue, right outside of the PJ’s and Rita’s shop, raising awareness for the website and answering any questions about student housing.
Answering Student's Questions on Finding an Apartment
Throughout the event, students expressed interest in our resource for finding apartments in Tuscaloosa and had plenty of questions. Many wanted to know exactly what service the website would provide them, and they learned that ApartmentsForLegends is the ultimate guide to housing in Tuscaloosa. With the benefit of local expertise, students can select where they live based on specific criteria and get deeper insight into what each apartment has to offer. In addition, resources are provided for students to learn about the town, the university, and more.
Another question that came up frequently was exactly where our service fits in in the housing ecosystem. ApartmentsForLegends helps to guide students’ search for apartments by connecting them with our housing partners. Whether by displaying a wide variety of options on the website, or giving tours of apartments on social media, our goal is to connect students with the housing community that is right for them.
Kicking off Our Launch in Tuscaloosa with a Bang
Our team had a blast celebrating the launch of ApartmentsForLegends with a collaboration with PJ's Coffee. Many students stopped by out of curiosity. Some came because they had been anticipating the event for days. Even the police, at first wondering whether the event was officially sanctioned, made an appearance, and learned about Tuscaloosa’s top-notch apartment guide! Passersbys frequently checked out the website in preparation for the Fall 2023 apartment search or browsed our social media, which offers apartment tours and student-focused content.
Housing partners working with ApartmentsForLegends benefited from this event as well. Our Instagram and TikTok pages offer deep dives into apartment communities and what makes each one unique, while the website allows students to get acquainted with the many great housing options available. Students may initially enter the housing search with preconceived ideas about where they want to live based exclusively on what is nearest to them or where their friends live. ApartmentsForLegends offers resources that allow students to figure out which communities will truly best suit them.
The PJ’s Coffee event was an awesome opportunity to introduce ApartmentsForLegends to the community and the student body. The students, meanwhile, were grateful for the opportunity to learn about such resources and, of course, grab a coffee on us.
