Finding Don the Perfect Short-Term Lease
Donald Burness has been to 80 countries, and has been published numerous times as an editor for African poetry anthologies. The former UF lecturer and seasoned traveler reached out to us during his search for a quiet apartment in Gainesville to call home while he audits classes at UF (just for fun!) next spring.
Don is fully committed to keeping his late wife Mary-Lou's adventurous spirit alive by heading to Japan this fall to learn Japanese, his 8th language, before returning to Gainesville for the Spring 2016 semester. He added that he enjoys bird watching and hopes to see some cranes at Payne's Prairie, and that he is excited to be in sunny Florida this winter.
His advice to me? Read great literature and go on constant adventures. I'm supposed to start with Things Fall Apart and travel out of the country immediately and go see something amazing.
We were able to find Don the perfect short-term lease at a furnished apartment for him and his 2 dachshunds at Huntington Lakes, and he plans to sign a lease for January this fall.
This is a huge reminder that what we do matters. I am totally inspired.
